Tribute Song To Iconic Scientist, Stephen Hawking

The punk band, NOFX, shared a tribute song to Stephen Hawking,  called, “There’s No Too Soon’ if Time is relative.”

The band released the song two days after the iconic physicist/cosmologist’s passing. The song was actually written a month before Hawking’s death on February 10.

Hawking died on March 14 after living with ALS for 55 years. His work has made Hawking a household name. This allowed artists, like the Foo Fighters and Alice Cooper, to memorialize the scientist after he died.

Family Of Paul Gray Wins In Overdose Lawsuit

In May of 2010, Slipknot’s bassist, Paul Gray, died of a drug overdose. Paul’s body was found in a hotel room with a hypodermic needle and a variety of pills next to him. An autopsy was performed and found that he died from a morphine overdose and had major heart issue. Dr. Baldi had been treating him for pain and addiction. He admitted he had not prescribed any of the medication that Paul  died from.

Paul Gray’s widow, Brenna Gray, filed a wrongful death lawsuit on 2010, but since she waited too long it was dismissed. Paul and Brenna’s daughter, October Gray, wasn’t born at the time of Paul’s death.

A wrongful death lawsuit was later filed on Brenna’s behalf. The trial was to supposed to be held Monday January 24, but was settled over the weekend.

James Hetfield in Serial Killer Film Cast

Metallica’s vocalist, James Hetfield, landed a role in the upcoming serial killer film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile. The film focuses on the notorious serial killer Ted Bundy, with Hatfield to be the the officer who arrests Bundy.

Zac Effron will star as Ted Bundy with James taking on the role of Officer Bob Hayward. Hayward was the  Utah patrolman who arrested Bundy in 1975 after pulling him over and finding burglary tools in his car.

James Hetfield has appeared in other films and tv shows as himself or as a narrator, but this will be Hetfield’s first dramatic roleplaying character. Hetfield landed the role because the film’s director Joe Berlinger, co-directed the Metallica documentary Some Kind of Monster. Berlinger has kept a close relationship with band in the years since the film.

Misfits Announce First East Coast Show In 35 Years

Just over a year and a half after reuniting, the founding members of of the Misfits will be returning to New Jersey for their first show in their home state in 35 years! The show will be on Saturday, May 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

This will be the first East Coast Misfits show with co-founders, Glenn Danzig on vocals and Jerry Only on bass, since 1983 when they played at the Channel Club in Boston, Massachusetts.

Former guitarist, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, will also be playing with the Misfits. Ex-Slayer and current Dead Cross drummer, Dave Lombardo, is expected to continue his role as the Misfits’ drummer. The last time this lineup performed in New Jersey, was in 1982 on the Earth A.D. tour.

The classic Misfits lineup reunited for the first time in 33 years in 2016. They played at some shows at Riot Fest during their reunion. They followed that up in late December of 2017 with shows in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. For the possibility of new music, Dave Lombardo recently said that while he is a “hired gun” for the band, he thinks they have got a bunch of touring under their belts before entering the studio again.
